Darling Point
Darling Point is an eastern, harbour-front suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It is situated approximately 5 kilometres east of the CBD of Sydney and is part of the local government area district of Woollahra. Darling Point is bounded by Edgecliff to the south, Sydney Harbour to the north, Rushcutters Bay to the west and Double Bay to the east. It is mainly residential and is one of the most densely populated suburbs of Sydney. Landmarks include St Marks Church and some of Sydney most valuable properties such as Craigend and Carthona. The area was originally known variously as Eurambi, Yarranabbi, Yarrandabbi and Yaranabe by the local Aboriginal people. It was named Darling Point, in recognition of Elizabeth Darling, the wife of NSW Governor Ralph Darling.
